REVOLVE RECYCLING FOUNDATION • WHEELS FOR KIDS PROGRAMME

1,000 bikes. 1,000 kids. Every year.

One in six Australian kids doesn’t have access to a bike. Not because bikes don’t exist. There are millions sitting unused in sheds. Because no one’s got them to the kids who need them. That’s what Wheels for Kids does.

BIKE EQUITY

Every kid has the right to ride

Bike equity is the idea that access to a bike shouldn’t depend on where you live or what your family earns.

A bike gets a child to school. It builds balance, coordination, and confidence. It’s a way to make friends, get outside, and feel a sense of freedom that’s hard to find elsewhere. For kids in disadvantaged communities, it can change the shape of a day,  and over time, a life.

We believe every child deserves that.

“We can give these bikes a second life, keep them out of landfill, and give them to children who will really appreciate them.”

— Jose, volunteer mechanic, Wheels for Kids

From your shed to a kid who needs it

Preloved bikes come through our Alexandria workshop. Our mechanics assess each one and restore the best kids’ bikes to a safe, reliable standard. Every bike that goes out is roadworthy, properly fitted, and ready to ride.

We work with schools, charities, and community organisations to make sure every bike lands with a child who’ll ride it.

Every community. No matter the postcode.

Since we started, Wheels for Kids has delivered more than 1,500 bikes to children in need across Australia — and we’re just getting started.

Last year, more than 100 bikes reached seven remote communities in the Northern Territory, delivered in partnership with local Indigenous organisations. Two hundred more are on their way this year.

We’ve also delivered bikes to Ukrainian refugee children, migrant kids in south-west Sydney, Indigenous kids in inner Sydney, and students in disadvantaged schools across Shoalhaven, Gippsland, the Hunter Valley, and outback Queensland.

Help us delivering 1000 bikes

This year, we’re raising funds to deliver 1000 quality, safety-tested, refurbished bikes — plus helmets and repair kits — to kids in remote communities in Northern Territory and to kids from newly arrived migrant and refugee families in Australia.

Every $80 puts a bike in a child’s hands. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.

We started in Sydney. The goal is every Australian child who needs a bike, gets one.

Wheels for Kids works because of the schools, community organisations, and supporters who back us. Every partnership means more bikes reach more kids.
