Where Some Bikes End Up
Revolve ReCYCLING Foundation runs the Wheels for Kids programme — built on one simple idea: every child has the right to a bike.
Through the programme, we donate professionally assessed and rebuilt bikes to children across Australia who wouldn’t otherwise have access to one. Over 1,500 bikes have been delivered to kids in need so far.
When you donate your bike, you’re not just clearing out the shed. You’re giving a child their first taste of independence, a way to get to school, and something that’s genuinely theirs.
Questions About Donating
Do you accept bikes in any condition?
Yes. We accept preloved bikes in any condition — working, non-working, incomplete, or just very old. Our mechanics assess everything that comes through. If it can be rebuilt, it will be. If not, every part is recycled responsibly.
What happens to my bike after I donate it?
Every donated bike is assessed at our Alexandria workshop. Bikes in good condition are rebuilt by our mechanics and either sold to local riders or donated to children through our Wheels for Kids programme. Bikes beyond repair are carefully disassembled — usable parts go into other builds and the rest is recycled.
What types of bikes do you accept?
We accept all types of pedal bikes — road, mountain, hybrid, kids’, BMX, folding, and vintage frames. We also collect e-bikes and scooters, which are recycled rather than rebuilt due to battery safety requirements.
How long does a home collection take?
Collections can take up to four weeks from the time you book. We’ll confirm your pick-up time by email — check your spam folder if you don’t hear from us.
Can I donate on behalf of a business or organisation?
Yes. We work with councils, businesses, schools, and community groups to manage large-scale donations and collection events. Email Guido at guido@revolverecycling.net to get started.

LATEST CAMPAIGN
1000 Bikes for Kids
Mission: Let’s deliver 1000 top quality bikes to children in need across Australia.
Every Kid Deserves the Joy of Riding a Bike
Imagine the thrill of a child pedalling their first bike and the endless adventures waiting to unfold. Yet, for many kids across Australia owning a bike is out of reach.
At the same time, countless bikes sit forgotten in sheds, abandoned on streets, or tossed into landfills. Together, we can change that.
“We can give these bikes a second life, keep them out of landfills, and gift them to kids who will truly cherish them.” – José, Volunteer Mechanic, Bikes for Kids.
Why This Campaign Matters
This campaign is about more than just bikes – it’s about empowerment, connection, and opportunity. A bike can teach children essential skills like balance, spatial awareness, and responsibility. It’s a tool for healthy exercise, a fun way to get to school, and a catalyst for friendships and community.
Bike riding is an excellent way to improve children’s physical health and abilities, including balance, muscle strength, and coordination skills.
Bike riding provides a practical, cheap form of transport to get to school each day. It helps improve school attendance in disadvantaged areas.
Bike riding provides children with a sense of freedom and independence that they may not experience in other areas of life. It provides social connection for children who feel isolated or don’t fit in. Bike riding provides a real boost to mental health and wellbeing. For kids, a bike is freedom, fun & enjoyment!
Who we are
The Revolve Recycling Foundation is a registered tax-deductible charity affiliated with our social enterprise, Revolve Recycling. Our mission is clear and ambitious: to deliver 1,000 bikes to 1,000 kids in need every year, creating opportunities and joy for children across Australia.
Based in Alexandria, NSW, Revolve Recycling is dedicated to sustainability and second chances. We’ve already diverted over 11,000 bikes from landfill, giving them new life through recycling, redeployment, or donation to those who need them most.
At the heart of our work is the belief that every bike deserves a rider and every child deserves the joy of riding. By restoring and redistributing these bikes, we’re not just reducing waste—we’re building healthier, happier, and more connected communities.your text here
