Bikes. Riders. Innovation
The bike industry is evolving, and Green Wheels is part of what’s next.
Across Australia, bike stores and riders are working together to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and build a stronger future for cycling. From tyres and tubes to metal, batteries and e-waste, we’re creating practical systems that help keep materials in use and out of landfill.
Green Wheels supports bike stores to take action, and helps riders choose businesses that are committed to doing things better.
Every store in the directory has met Green Wheels accreditation standards, completing our 100 point criteria and taking real steps to future proof their business and the industry.
These stores are actively working to reduce waste, improve repair practices, and operate more efficiently. Some may offer recycling or collection services, but all are committed to doing things better.
When you support these stores, you’re backing better systems for bikes, riders, and the future of cycling.

Celebrating Sustainability in the Cycling Industry
The Green Wheels Sustainability Award, presented in partnership with SPOKEN, recognises bike businesses that are leading the way in environmental responsibility and circular practices.
From reducing waste and improving recycling systems to embracing innovative sustainable initiatives, this award shines a light on the stores and brands creating positive change within the cycling community.
We’re proud to announce this year’s Sustainability Award winner as Tempest Bicycles.
A builder and business that is putting sustainability at the centre of how they work, from how bikes are made, to how they are kept on the road and out of landfill.

Green Wheels is a free accreditation programme for bike stores across Australia.
We work with stores to improve operations, reduce waste, and build more efficient systems that support long term growth. At the same time, we connect riders with stores that are stepping up and leading change within the industry.

PETITION
Bike tyres and tubes aren’t currently covered by Australia’s product stewardship framework. Millions reach end of life each year without a clear system in place.
Green Wheels is bringing together riders, bike stores, and industry voices to support better solutions — creating opportunities for innovation, improved systems, and a stronger future for cycling.
Industry News
Bike tyres and tubes aren’t covered by Australia’s product stewardship framework. Millions end up in landfill every year — with no national system to deal with them. We’re calling for that to change.

Just need a bike for uni without the long-term commitment? International student here for the short-term? We’ve got you covered.
If you buy an affordable bike from Revolve ReCYCLING, we will buy the bike back and give you a refund when you return it after 6 months. (If returned before 6 months it’s treated as if it were for six months)
We refund the original price minus 10% per month of use. For example, for a $500 bike, you get $200 back at 6 months. (We also deduct $30 for a condition check, plus any repair costs.) So, that works out to $50 per month of usage – well cheaper than a rental.
Our re-furbished bikes are branded, high-quality and warrantied. We’ve got hybrids, commuters, mountain bikes and road bikes. They’re perfect for getting to and from campus and beyond. And, they’re all about sustainability.
